Access Statement

This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with disabilities, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our visitors.

Trewithen House

The guided tour of Trewithen House itself is located on ground floor level and we can provide a wheelchair ramp to the main entrance upon request in advance, however with the inherent restrictions of a listed historic building not all areas of the tour are fully accessible, including low level lighting and uneven flooring.

If you are unsure or feel that we do not cover your access requirement in this statement, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01726 883647 or email office@trewithenestate.co.uk and we will be happy to discuss your needs.

Trewithen Gardens and Tea Shed

The circular route around the gardens is paved with a light gravel top that does not impede wheelchair access.

There is an accessible unisex toilet located alongside the main WCs in the courtyard. The Tea Shed floor is carpeted and accessible. The Tea Shed is well lit via lights and large windows.

Allergy information is available for all items on the menu. Dietary requirements can be specifically catered for if advance notice is given. Assistance can be given upon request.

Other areas of the gardens and landscape are open to the public, but there is no footpath and these areas are uneven. Benches are available around the gardens although they are not based at regular intervals.

For visitors who would otherwise not be able to visit without a carer or companion, we offer free companion or carer tickets.
