Cherry plums

Its a good year for fruit in the garden. Various prunus trees are heaving with fruit.

Two in particular are Prunus mume 'Beni-no-dori' (Japanese apricot) with bright yellow plum like fruits and Prunus cerasifera 'Hessei' (Cherry Plum) with its cherry red fruit. Both have a bitter skin with the sweetest center you could imagine.
