Here are the first pictures of the Trewithen/International Camellia societies show garden at the 2014 spring flower show at the glorious Boconnoc.
The concept behind the garden is to highlight Camellias in the south west. We have 4 of the ICS "Camellia Gardens of Excellence" (only last week the world wide total of gardens with the award has risen to over 40). So the south west of England has a lot to shout about in the camellia world and I wanted more people to know about it.
The four gardens are Antony, Mount Edgcumbe, Trewithen from Cornwall and Marwood hill in Devon.
The garden shows off the diversity of the genus camellia even including "Tea" plants and a demonstration on camellia pruning.
Tomorrow we will stage our floral exhibits.
Fingers crossed.
