Today we are starting to pick material for the Cornwall garden societies spring flower show.
We have a reduced amount of entries due to the demand of entering more shows this year. We have already done the RHS early camellia show at wisley (see elsewhere for the results) and will be preparing for the RHS main Rhododendron show at Rosemoor on the 24th-25th April. This also includes the south west’s RHS Rhododendron, Camellia and Magnolia groups show.
All our efforts will be on retaining our trophy for our exhibit in class 1, (affectionately called the “Five foot run”), which is a display of cut material on three levels of staging up to a maximum width of 5 feet. This has been previously dominated by Tregothnan gardens winning the cup 21 times since 1973. We have only entered 3 times in my time here and won twice, in 2006 and 2009.
