Camellia cuspidata

A species which grows into a large shrub of about 3m/10ft. The small flowers are white tinged pink. Very hardy in Britain with the added bonus of attractive coppery new growth.
It’s a parent of the popular hybrids C.’Cornish Snow’,(white) and C.’Cornish Spring’, (pink)

Introduced by Ernest Wilson from China in 1900
