Hedychium densiflorum

Native to the Himalayas. a relatively small “Ginger Lily” that is hardy in the UK (mostly) plus is one of the most reliable to flower in the UK climate.
Keep the rhizomes well mulched to protect them during the winter, frost may “prune” back the foliage but new leaves, with narrow long pointed tips, will appear late in spring followed by slender spikes of orange coloured , fragrant flowers well into autumn.
