Plant of the month for October is…
Cercis canadensis ‘Forest Pansy’.
We generally don’t have the best autumn show purely because of the climate. The weather doesn’t get cold enough fast enough and as a result, leaves either get blown off before they can change colour or they just go brown! It's therefore important to carefully select our plants and the ‘Forest Pansy' gives us guaranteed autumn colour in the form of a shrub or small tree. The heart shaped leaves go through a range of colours from pale green through the reds into oranges and yellow.
