Cornus kousa var. chinensis
Below is a copy of my blog from june last year. the Cornus is even better this year. Easily plant of the month and a definate candidate for "Plant Personality Of The Year 2011".
This wonderful small tree/large shrub is now in its full glory. The whole plant is smothered in white bracts (modified leaves giving the impression of large flowers). Their sheer weight transforms this fairly upright specimen into a weeping form.
Situated within the rose garden this Cornus is easily the star attraction of the garden at the moment.
