Third place for 2009 is …
Impatiens omeiana.
A lovely perennial, from Yunnan in China, with very attractive foliage. The lance-shaped dark green leaves have a silvery vein giving the illusion of being variegated. In late summer it has masses of bright yellow ‘Busy Lizzie’ like flowers. Great ground cover for damp shade the most asked about plant this spring. Even with a label people still asked what it was and more importantly do we sell it. From 2010 a limited stock will be available in the plant centre.
