After a camellia winning for the last two years (2012 C.reticulata 'Shizitou' and 2013 C.'Yoimachi') This year's runners up is….
Camellia x williamsii 'Donation.
Free flowering and covered in orchid-pink blooms throughout summer.
Possibly the most famous Camellia in the west. Originated in Borde hill crossed by Col.stephenson Clarke from seed "Donated" to him from J.C.Williams of Caerhays. The resulting seedlings were grown on at Borde hill, Caerhays and Trewithen. The others died so the Trewithen plant is the "Grandmother" of all C."Donation"
We have an interpretation sign up and will install a mat so we can all kneel before her in worship
