Camellia sasanqua and its hybrids are flowering in the garden. Theses stunning camellia have the extra bonus of being scented, some more so than others. Spring flowering Camellia always looks as though they should be scented and are asking for a sniff. These autumn flowering species don’t disappoint. Colours range from white through to dark pink and can withstand the hardest frost. Also several varieties have stunning foliage to add to the mix. A good one we grow here is Camellia sasanqua ‘Winter’s Snowman’ with the most stunning deep red new foliage.
For a splash of winter charm every garden should have Camellia sasanqua, space isn’t an excuse as they are easily grown in pots!
