Trewithen_bulbs_2.jpgFrom delicate snowdrops to robust English bluebells, staff at the Nursery have planted over 20,000 spring bulbs in the last couple of weeks. By Christmas all will be showing green shoots and some will be in flower.

This will be the third year Nursery Manager, Luke Hazelton, has chosen to create these perfect Christmas gifts.

He said: “The idea of selling spring bulbs in pots started small with a mixed selection of just 4,000  bulbs the first year. They were so popular we’ve increased both the number of bulbs we plant and the variety. We’ve already had several enquiries about when they’ll be available and some people have already reserved pots. I just hope we have enough to meet demand.”

On the extensive list of bulb varieties available – alongside the snowdrops and bluebells – are crocus, hyacinth, narcissi, cyclamen, tulips and iris. Although not yet showing above their blankets of soil, the bulbs are ready to buy direct from the Nursery.
